Historic Preservation Ordinance

City of Laguna Beach Historic Preservation Ordinance (HPO)

The City of Laguna Beach is currently in the process of updating its City Policies to create a locally voluntary Historic Preservation Program.  This update includes a General Plan (GPA), Zoning Code (ZOA) and Local Coastal Program Amendment (LCPA).

On August 11, 2020, the City Council approved a revised Historic Preservation Program. For more information, see the City Council Staff Report and the revised Historic Preservation Ordinance

However, prior to City implementation of this revised program, the Coastal Commission must approve these revisions.  It is anticipated that the Coastal Commission will review the modifications before December 2021.
