Historic Preservation Ordinance

City of Laguna Beach Historic Preservation Ordinance (HPO)

The City of Laguna Beach is currently in the process of updating its City Policies to create a locally voluntary Historic Preservation Program.  This update includes a General Plan (GPA), Zoning Code (ZOA) and Local Coastal Program Amendment (LCPA). 

On April 26, 2022, the City Council approved a revised Historic Preservation Program to provide for a locally voluntary program, which was certified by the Coastal Commission July 13, 2022. For more information, see the City Council Staff Report and the revised Historic Preservation Ordinance.
